Let’s be honest—don’t we all long to hear these words?

Yet hardly anyone says them.

Isn’t that one of the reasons why we keep trying to improve ourselves? Why we constantly strive to become better, prettier, more successful, more accepted?

Our souls are thirsty.
Our spirits often feel insecure.

During my training as an image consultant, one sentence stayed with me: „Not making an impression is impossible.“ Every one of us influences other people, and other people influence us. No one shapes us more deeply than our parents and siblings.

A mother comforts, teaches, and loves. Through her presence she gives security, offers protection when we are afraid, teaches us boundaries, and helps us grow. She cares for us in countless everyday ways.

A father provides and protects. He encourages us to discover new things, to become independent, and to learn the values that help us live well with others. He is meant to be a role model and to give healthy feedback that brings direction, correction, and confidence. His words and actions have a profound impact on a child’s sense of identity, self-worth, and relationships.

Brothers, sisters, and friends also shape us. They teach us how to resolve conflicts, show consideration, develop empathy, and grow into the unique people God created us to be.

But what happens when a father or mother is absent? Or when they withdraw from the responsibility they were meant to carry?

Then something important is missing.

Our identity develops through relationships. We become „I“ through „you.“ When a father never speaks life into his child, an empty space is left behind. Some children respond by constantly trying harder, hoping to finally be enough. Others simply give up.

I know what that feels like.

Perhaps somewhere along the way you learned messages like:
„I’m not enough.“
„Nobody sees me.“
„My needs don’t matter.“
„I’m ugly.“
„I’m unlovable.“

These are lies—deeply rooted lies that quietly shape our lives. Hidden beneath the surface, they keep repeating the same patterns. We get in our own way, unable to break free.

But God can.

He is a master at replacing lies with truth. He knows every false belief you’ve carried, and He knows the specific word your heart needs today. He longs to speak that truth over your life—and He invites you to speak it over yourself as well.

I find these truths in the Bible, and I choose to declare them aloud. Every time I do, I stop feeding the lies.

You will know the truth and the truth will make you free. John 8,32 NLV

Don’t be afraid to seek help from a pastor, an ICL counselor, a Sozo ministry team, or another trusted Christian who can walk alongside you. I do the same.

Allow yourself to experience the unconditional love of your heavenly Father. He accepts you exactly as you are.

You do not have to be perfect.

In fact, you never could be.

Only God is perfect—and He loves you anyway.

All of us are still learning. That is what following Jesus is all about. We look to Him as our example. We learn, we stumble, we get up again, and we keep growing.

Through every step of that journey, one truth never changes:

You are loved.

God looks at you with the eyes of perfect love.

When you begin to see yourself through His eyes, you discover how precious you are—how unique, how wonderfully created.

Be courageous. Dare to believe that God has placed gifts and purpose within you.

The opinions of others do not define your worth.

God has chosen you.

That is what matters.

And when His loving gaze reaches your soul, something beautiful begins to happen.

Your true self starts to shine.

Your heart begins to bloom from the inside out.

Close your eyes and imagine that Jesus is standing right beside you. He looks at you with eyes full of love. You can feel the warmth of His love surrounding you.

Jesus says to you:

„You are enough. I love you. You are beautiful.

I am telling you the truth, because I am the Truth. Believe Me.“

Now speak these words over your own life—regardless of what you feel:

I am loved.
I am enough.
I am beautiful.
